A Malaysian man has been accused of purchasing Viagra, a drug that treats erectile dysfunction, in the United States in a case brought against him by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
Preeta Pangirakulam, 35, a resident in Singapore, is accused of selling Viagra in a store in the state of Klang.
The man, who has not been identified, was sentenced on Wednesday to four years in prison and a $100,000 fine. He has also been ordered to pay an additional $600 in damages.
Viagra is a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It is used to treat ED in approximately 100% of men.
Viagra is the second most commonly prescribed drug in Malaysia, after Cialis, which treats erectile dysfunction. The drug was launched in 1998, but has yet to be officially approved.
It has also been approved for use in Australia, Europe, Canada and other countries, and the United States.
A trial has been set to begin in September, and the government is expected to pay between $600,000 and $1,000,000 to a local court to try the case.
Viagra is available only with a prescription from a doctor. In the case, Pangirakulam is charged with selling prescription drugs such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
If he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to a maximum of four years in prison, and a $1,000 fine.

Most men occasionally fail to get or keep an erection. This is usually due to stress, tiredness, anxiety or drinking too much alcohol, and it’s nothing to worry about.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. These effects are normally mild to moderate in nature.
If you experience any of the following side effects stop using the medicine and seek medical help immediately:
allergic reactions including rashes (frequency uncommon). chest pain – do not use nitrates but seek immediate medical assistance (frequency uncommon). priapism, a prolonged and possibly painful erection after taking CIALIS (frequency rare). If you have such an erection, which lasts continuously for more than 4 hours you should contact a doctor immediately. sudden loss of vision (frequency rare). Other side effects have been reported:
Common (seen in 1 to 10 in every 100 patients)
headache, back pain, muscle aches, pain in arms and legs, facial flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion. Uncommon (seen in 1 to 10 in every 1,000 patients)
dizziness, stomach ache, feeling sick, being sick (vomiting), reflux, blurred vision, eye pain, difficulty in breathing, presence of blood in urine, prolonged erection, pounding heartbeat sensation, a fast heart rate, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, nose bleeds, ringing in the ears, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles and feeling tired. Rare (seen in 1 to 10 in every 10,000 patients)
fainting, seizures and passing memory loss, swelling of the eyelids, red eyes, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, hives (itchy red welts on the surface of the skin), penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen and increased sweating. Heart attack and stroke have also been reported rarely in men taking CIALIS. Most of these men had known heart problems before taking this medicine.
Partial, temporary, or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes has been rarely reported.
These side effects are usually mild tomoderate for the affected side effect.
This medicine should not be used in patients with a heart-related condition such as myasthenia gravis or with severe heart failure.
Before starting treatmentBefore taking CIALIS a doctor should be consulted. A pharmacist should be consulted to discuss any symptoms you may experience after taking CIALIS.
A dose may need to be taken, the course of the treatment, and whether any dosage is right for you.'s instructions should be followed for each visit.

If you have (or have ever had)
Any medical conditions (such as epilepsy or migraine headaches)
Any medication (painkiller, steroid)

Myasthenia gravis or any other muscle-relaxing medication
If you suffer from dizziness, lightheaded feeling or swelling of the vision or hearing system, having experienced a traumatic brain disease (such as a motoroma) or having had a severe stroke, we willospitalize you if you make the occasional visit.
If you suffer from frunitus (thinning of the penis) you can take CIALIS with or without food.
